چکیده

Ewe productivity is a composite and maternal trait that considered the most important economic in sheep meat production. The objective of this study was application alternative genome-wide association (GWAS) approaches followed by gene set enrichment analysis (GSEA) on ewes’ genome to identify genes affecting pregnancy outcomes lamb growth after parturition Iranian Baluchi sheep. Three traits at birth weaning were considered. progeny weight, litter mean weight birth, total weaning, weaning. GWASs performed original phenotypes as well estimated breeding values. significant SNPs associated with located within or near RDX , FDX1 ARHGAP20 ZC3H12C THBS1 EPG5 . Identified pathways have functions related pregnancy, such autophagy placenta, progesterone production placental formation, calcium ion transport, immune response. For ( NR2C1 VEZT HSD17B4 RSU1 CUBN VIM PRLR FTH1 ) feed intake food conservation, development mammary glands cytoskeleton structure, milk components like fatty acids, proteins, vitamin B-12, identified. results show transport during feeding lambs can greatest impact gain compared other effects origin.

Genome-wide Association Study to Identify Genes and Biological Pathways Associated with Type Traits in Cattle using Pathway Analysis

Extended Abstract Introduction and Objective: Type traits describing the skeletal characteristics of an animal are moderately to strongly genetically correlate with other economically important traits in cattle including fertility, longevity and carcass traits. The present study aimed to conduct a genome wide association studies (GWAS) based on gene-set enrichment analysis for identifying the ...

Genetic Analysis of Ewe Productivity Traits in Baluchi Sheep

The present study was carried out to estimate (co)variance components and genetic parameters for some productivity traits of Baluchi ewes. The data were collected during a 31 year period (1984-2014) at the experimental breeding station of Baluchi sheep, which is located in north-east of Mashhad, Iran. The analysis was based on 14030 records of lambs and 4371 records of ewes. Investigated traits...

Genome-Wide Association Mapping of Quantitative Traits in Outbred Mice

Recent developments in high-density genotyping and statistical analysis methods that have enabled genome-wide association studies in humans can also be applied to outbred mouse populations. Increased recombination in outbred populations is expected to provide greater mapping resolution than traditional inbred line crosses, improving prospects for identifying the causal genes. We carried out gen...

Genome-wide association and pathway analysis of feed efficiency in pigs reveal candidate genes and pathways for residual feed intake

Residual feed intake (RFI) is a complex trait that is economically important for livestock production; however, the genetic and biological mechanisms regulating RFI are largely unknown in pigs. Therefore, the study aimed to identify single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs), candidate genes and biological pathways involved in regulating RFI using Genome-wide association (GWA) and pathway analyses....

Integrating molecular QTL data into genome-wide genetic association analysis: Probabilistic assessment of enrichment and colocalization

We propose a novel statistical framework for integrating the result from molecular quantitative trait loci (QTL) mapping into genome-wide genetic association analysis of complex traits, with the primary objectives of quantitatively assessing the enrichment of the molecular QTLs in complex trait-associated genetic variants and the colocalizations of the two types of association signals. We intro...
